For our house in a very small village in France, where the water coming out of the tap is often poorly filtered, I have been looking for a better alternative than the plastic bottled water available in all the supermarkets there, which is not always of the best quality and also leaves behind a lot of plastic waste. I then came across the British Berkefeld system and am extremely happy with it. The filter does a good job overall. Not only does it transform the sometimes cloudy tap water into visibly clear water, the flavour is also much better. The only negative point (but this is not British Berkefeld’s fault) is that due to the poor quality of our water, the filter does not last the full 6 months specified by the manufacturer. Nevertheless, I am very happy to have this filter and therefore much better drinking water.
