Instruction Manual
- Flushing new filter cartridges:
Install the filter cartridges in your gravity water filter system. Fill the top container of your system with water and allow it to fully filter through. Discard the filtered water. Remove the cartridges from the system and clean the system (stainless steel parts) with a mild dish soap and a soft cloth. Rinse well and dry. Repeat another 2 times. - Cleaning filter cartridges:
While holding the blue threaded stem, place the filter cartridge under running water and scrub the surface using the abrasive side of a scourer sponge. Do not allow water to enter the blue stem of the filter cartridge. Rinse well. Cartridge replacement
- It is important to replace your filter cartridges to maintain the performance of your filter
- The manufacturer recommends to replace this cartridge after 6 months if you use one at a time, 12 months if you use two at a time, 18 months if you use three at a time and 24 months if you use four at a time

I’ve had Berkey dispensers for a couple of years now, and found myself needing replacement filters. I work as a water treatment operator, so I’m able to test a few parameters and can see for myself whether a filter will do as claimed. I like the Pro One filters a lot more than the other ones! These actually remove the chlorine from chloramines. I made a mistake in getting one for the little Go Berkey that I use at work (I don’t want to drink tap water with freshly-added chemicals). In storing the Go’s upper chamber upside-down when not in use, my 7” Pro One filter separated at the seal adhering the filter shell from the plastic base, rendering it useless. An expensive boo-boo indeed! But I really like what the two I got for the home unit are doing. A Pro One filter fan, and not looking back!
