Do I need a separate tap for this water filter? We strongly advise installing this system with a dedicated Doulton Pillar Tap or a Doulton Three-Way Mixer Tap. Connecting it directly to your existing standard kitchen mixer tap may mix your hot/cold mains supply with your filtered supply, which compromises the water quality and cartridge life.
How easy is it to change the replacement cartridges? The process is quick and tool-free. You simply turn off the water supply, unscrew the durable plastic housing caps, remove the old cartridges, drop in the new ones, screw on the housing caps, turn on the water supply. The housing stays permanently plumbed under your bench. The Biotect Ultra filter goes into the slot closest to your tap, while the pre-filter sits in the slot closest to the incoming water.
How do I know if my home water pressure is compatible? You can run a quick 1-litre jug test at home. Turn your kitchen cold tap on fully and time how long it takes to fill a 1-litre jug. If it takes 7 to 12 seconds, your pressure is perfect for this underbench system. If it takes more than 12 seconds, we recommend contacting a plumber to check your mains pressure before purchasing.

well made but some aspects of the install are a bit fiddley. example is the two mounting holes in the top part are very difficult to get to even with the top removed so i cant tighten the two screws. another issue is the filters need to be screwed in before the housings are fitted, which if its not mounted quite high up means removing the whole unit to screw the housings back in. maybe this is why the mounting screws are not tightened so it can be removed to change the filters.
